One of our customers “Anne” has the kind of muscle wasting called CMT. For her, this means that she has very little strength in her hands and feet and she cannot feel her feet.
When she is wearing shoes or boots, her toes curl under the foot and then lie in the shoe like a fist hand. We can all imagine that it is very uncomfortable to walk around like this.
We have sewn zippers in several of Anne’s shoes, so she has been able to open them in front and straighten her toes. But now, we made a pair of winter boots for her, with this new “zipper”solution and it seems to work very well.
Anne herself decided that she wanted black neutral boots with laces, that could fit the entire wardrobe. Since she does not have the world’s best balance, we also chose a solid raw rubber sole. At WomenPowerFactory the staff are very proud, now that they have seen a photo of Anne with the boots on.
